Happy Presidents Day!

We had an awesome President's day yesterday and a fun weekend with Anna here. Saturday we were able to see a lot of things downtown. It was a pretty nice day - sunny and about 50 degrees. Sunday we went to church and played some peanut. Yesterday admission to Mount Vernon was free to celebrate GW's birthday. We thought it would be fun to go - so did everyone else! It was the busiest we've ever seen it! We parked about 1/2 mile away, and decided not to tour the mansion because it was an hour wait. We had fun walking along the Potomac and seeing the barn and gardens though. The best part about the day was the 73 degree weather!!! Can you believe that! It was amazing and just made me want spring to come even more. Here are a few pictures:

A Visit to Madison

Cathy and I had a wonderful, wintry time in Madison visiting with Jared, Joan and Theodore. It was a cold weekend, perfect for winter activities.

Theodore was happy and did not complain too much...

We all went snow shoeing at an ice-age park...and it sure did feel like the ice age.

Jared and Theo at the park. Theo was nice and bundled up.

We ended the day with a good meal, and a good banana.
We recommend snow shoeing and bananas in Madison to everyone.

Important news from Copenhagen

I forgot to tell you all that Elizabeth taught her host family to play Peanut!!!!    She said they were a bit confused at first but she thinks they like it now.  We are all going to play when we get there. should be a riot.

Copenhagen

Elizabeth sent me some pictures from Copenhagen so I thought I would share them. It is cold there so one is Elizabeth and the ice and the other one is of her and her host family. The girl is 13 and the boy is 10. The girl can speak some english as can the Mom and Dad. She likes them all and is so glad she got to live with a family rather than in a dorm.  She is seeing a lot of sights and is having a good time in between studies. Bruce and Laurie are taking his Mom and me to visit in April.  I am so excited, this will be my first trip abroad.
