Grandma and Grandpa Hopkins came to visit this past weekend. We drove out to Shenandoah National Park to see the leaves changing color. It was raining the whole time except when we got out to go on a walk (we were lucky).
Our Christopher is two weeks old today! Its been so fun getting to know him over the past two weeks. Here are some things we have learned about our son:
1. He has a very serious look on his face most of the time. We still think he has a sense of humor though because the times he has blown through his diaper, one of us has always been holding him! 2. Christopher usually loves to be outside. He likes his carseat pretty well and likes going on walks. Let's hope this lasts. 3. He loves to watch baseball and football with his dad. He will actually stare at the TV. I think its more the lights that he likes, but Dave insists its the sports. 4. He likes to stare at things. When he stares, everything stops. He totally stops moving and just looks. 5. If he's crying, he calms down when you talk to him and tell him what is going on. 6. Christopher is so strong! He can already hold his head up pretty well.
We love Christopher so much and are so glad he has joined our family!
Christopher watching baseball. He is awake in this picture. The TV only keeps him occupied for about 2 minutes though.
The serious look.
Christopher enjoys his new swing, but he only likes to be put in it if he is already sleeping.
I thought that we would just give everyone a little update... we are still waiting for Mya to come. We are getting pretty excited and we wanted to show everyone the awesome mobile that Grandma and Grandpa Doot (Mom and Dad) sent us. It plays the fight song and moves in a circle when it is on. The song sounds like a little lulaby. When we first tried it out Janine said: Wow, I thought it would have been a little more ferocious than that. I guess the mobile takes after the team...We decided that Mya will be well acquainted with the Michigan fight song by the time they are good again, that way she will know who to cheer for.... GO BLUE!
So, as all of you know, Christopher was born Monday at 8:07 am. We brought him home from the hospital yesterday. Its great to be home, but the help was nice :) Here are some more of our favorite pictures.
Thanks for the hat Grandma Doot!
Hanging out in the carseat waiting to go home from the hospital.
I had to take a picture of this onesie. I think its really funny - thanks Melissa and Ali. Also, who doesn't love pumpkin socks?? (those are thanks to Sarah Woodbury) And thanks Aunt Lisa for the really soft blanket, Christopher loves to lay on it!
